Havana, Cuba.- Cuban Deputy Foreign Minister Rogelio Sierra begins today a working visit to Suriname, Trinidad and Tobago, Barbados, Guyana and Jamaica, a tour aims to strengthen relations with the Caribbean.

As reported by the foreign ministry, the Caribbean route of the Sierra will be extended until June 16 and includes an extensive program of activities, including meetings with authorities of those countries, Cuban residents and the personnel of the state missions of the Greater Antilles.

He will also hold meetings with executives of the Caribbean Community (Caricom) and the Association of Caribbean States (ACS), he specified in a statement.

The tour’s purpose is to reaffirm the historic bilateral relations with the region, exchange criteria on issues of mutual interest and confirm Cuba’s willingness to continue cooperation, he added.
