Beijing, China.-Chinese People”s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) President, Yu Zhengzheng, and Cuban People”s Power National Assembly (ANPP) President, Esteban Lazo, on an official visit here today, reaffirmed the reciprocal support between the two nations.

Yu, who is also a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPCh), met with Lazo at the headquarters of the highest consultative body, a meeting used to ratify the invariable support offered by both socialist countries at the bilateral and international sphere.

During talks held yesterday at the Great Hall of the People, Zhang stressed Lazo that Cuba was the first country of the Western Hemisphere to establish relations with China, ties that will mark the 57th anniversary.

The Chinese leader referred to the bilateral ties between Havana and Beijing, assessing the relationship of ‘close friends, good companions and sincere brothers,’ once he noted the achievements made by the Caribbean island in the construction of the socialism under the guidance of the Cuban Communist Party (PCC).

Lazo meant the frequent visits CPPCC officials carried out to Cuba in recent times as a mechanism of mutual understanding and learning that should be perpetuated in order to promote the healthy development of processes of reform and the updating of economic models in which both countries are involved.

The two sides agreed yesterday on the importance of continuing developing party cooperation and agreed to strengthen the mechanisms of cooperation between the Chinese political consultative institution and the Cuban People’s Power National Assembly.

Lazo came accompanied by Yolanda Ferrer, president of the Commission on International Relations at the Parliament; Jose Luis Toledo chairman of the Commission on Constitutional and Legal Affairs; and Caridad Diego, member of the mentioned parliamentary group.
