CARICOM´s Foreign ministers reiterated their position against the use of force in Venezuela.

SAINT GEORGE, Grenada.- The Council on Foreign and Community Relations of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) reaffirmed its guiding principles of non-interference and non-intervention in the affairs of States, in analyzing the situation in Venezuela.

During the recent Council meeting in Grenada, the Chancellors expressed concern about the ongoing events in that South American country and reiterated their position against the use of force for a solution to the crisis.

In addition, those attending the Saint George meeting ratified CARICOM’s position to allow the Bolivarian people to determine their own future through a peaceful way.

They said the dialogue should determine the best way to solve the crisis within the limits of the Constitution and the rule of law, whether by referendum, elections or any other mechanism agreed only by Venezuelans.
