LA PAZ, Boliva.- Nelson Mandela’s struggle for peace and his legacy was remembered by Bolivia’s President, Evo Morales, on the fifth anniversary of the physical disappearance of the former South African leader.

Mandela’s legacy is not only the end of Apartheid in South Africa, but the certainty that all domination can be defeated with unity and conviction, Morales wrote on his Twitter account.

Last September 24, in homage to the South African leader, a statue was unveiled in the United Nations, to whom the multilateral agency dedicated several events this year.

According to the Secretary General of the UN, Antonio Guterres, Mandela was an example for many people, both for his words and for his actions. Moreover, Madiba, as he was known, shared with the United Nations the same values of peace, forgiveness, compassion and human dignity.
