Luanda, Angola.- Jose Ramon Balaguer, a member of the secretariat of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC), said today that deep friendship between the island and Angola will always prevail.

After a meeting with the vice president of the governing Popular Movement for the Liberation of Angola (MPLA), Luisa Damiao, Balaguer told reporters that the ties between the two parties and governments have always been excellent.

We deeply want them to move forward and we are sure that the MPLA will achieve the objectives it has set itself,’ said the head of the Ccpcc’s International Relations Department when asked about internal issues of the Angolan political force in power since the independence in 1975.

We are here to permanently strengthen and renew our friendship, on the basis of historical relations existing from the struggle for independence, noted the executive.

Our presence here is to express the strength of friendship between MPLA and the PCC, he added along with his delegation made up of the vice chief of the Organization Ideological Department, Angel Arzuaga, specialist Miriam Morales and ambassador here, Esther Armenteros.

Later, Balaguer and his delegation met with the general secretary of the Angolan Women Organization (OMA), Luzia Ingles, who updated him on the activities of the institution, one of the pillars of the MPLA.
