salvador-valdesmesa-congoPretoria, South Africa.-Africa has showed a lot of gratitude and recognition for the collaboration Cuba has provided to this continent, Vice President of the Cuban Council of State, Salvador Valdes Mesa, said before continuing his regional trip.

‘We received a very positive reception from governments, parliaments and parties,’ the Cuban vice president told Prensa Latina shortly before traveling to the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), on the last stage of a tour of four other African nations.

Valdes Mesa said that the occasion was conducive to strengthening relations, ‘we have historically had with these countries and in turn review existing programs.’

He stated that at the same time, ‘this tour has been an opportunity to express the gratitude from our country for the traditional support of the African governments and peoples in the struggle for the elimination of the blockade,’ imposed by the United States against Cuba for more than five decades.

Cuba has been cooperating in some 67 countries.
