HAVANA, Cuba.- At the close of yesterday, May 13, 46 patients are admitted to hospitals for epidemiological clinical surveillance. Another 2,794 people are monitored in their homes from Primary Health Care.

For COVID-19, two thousand 013 samples were studied, resulting in 20 positive samples. The country accumulates 75 thousand 142 samples carried out and a thousand 830 positive (2.4%). Therefore, at the close of yesterday, 20 new cases are confirmed, for a cumulative figure of one thousand 830 in the country.

The 20 new confirmed cases were Cuban. Of them, 19 (95.0%) confirmed case contacts and of one (5.0%) the source of infection is not accurate.

Of the 20 diagnosed cases, five (25.0%) were men and 15 (75.0%) women. By age groups the most affected were: under 40 with 11 (55.0%) 40 -60 with 9 (45.0%). 85.0% (17) of positive cases were asymptomatic.

The places of residence of the 74 confirmed cases by provinces and municipalities are as follows:

Havana: 10 cases (3 of San Miguel del Padron municipality; Centro Habana and Arroyo Naranjo with 2 each, Playa, Boyeros and La Lisa with 1 each)

Matanzas: 10 cases (7 from Matanzas municipality; Limonar, Jovellanos and Los Arabos with 1 each)

Of 1,830 patients diagnosed with the disease, 366 are kept admitted and 357 (97.5%) have a stable clinical evolution. 79 deaths (none in the day), two evacuees and 383 recovered patients (75.6%) (57 medical discharged yesterday). Three patients are reported in a critical condition and six patients in a serious condition.

Cuban citizen, 70, from Playa municipality. A history of senile dementia. In the Intermediate Care room he developed clinical worsening and was moved for Intensive Care Therapy. She is ventilated with mechanical ventilation. Unstable hemodynamically. She is reported in a critical condition.

59-year-old Cuban citizen from Matanzas municipality. History of ischemic cardiopathy, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and lung neoplasia under study. He started with diarrhea, shortness of breath and sudden weakness. Electrocardiogram is performed with electrical changes in the anterior face so he is transferred for Intensive Care Therapy. He is cold and has distal cyanosis in both lower limbs, with thermal gradient, in mechanical ventilation, with light respiratory distress. Hemodynamically unstable. Electrocardiogram with acute anterior face myocardial infarction. Chest Rx. with radiopaciaty left paracardiac. He is reported in a critical condition.

Cuban citizen, 85, of Villa Clara. Background of peripheral venous insufficiency of both lower members and cholecystectomy. She is ventilated mechanically, hemodynamically unstable. Chest Rx. with bilateral inflammatory lesions to predominate of right hemithorax. She is reported in a critical condition.

Patients reported in severe condition:

58-year-old Cuban citizen, from Plaza de la Revolucion municipality. Personal pathological history of high blood pressure, bronchial asthma and right lung apex cyst. He is hemodynamically stable. Chest Rx. with left-based and 2/3 lower inflammatory lesions of the right hemithorax. He is reported in a serious condition.

Cuban citizen, 85. From Centro Habana municipality. With a history of prostate cancer with pulmonary metastasis. During admission presented coughing, he started with polypnea and was moved to Intensive Care Therapy. He is hemodynamically stable. Chest Rx. with inflammatory lesions in both lung fields predominantly the right hemithorax. He is reported in a serious condition.

Cuban citizen, 68. She comes from Arroyo Naranjo municipality. With a history of hemolytic anemia. She is hemodynamically stable. Chest Rx. with inflammatory lesions spread in both lung fields. She is reported in a serious condition.

47-year-old Cuban citizen from Santa Clara, Villa Clara province. History of arterial hypertension, nephrectomy with left adrenalectomy for renal tumor two years ago. He is hemodynamically stable, chest Rx. with radiological improvement. He is reported in a serious condition.

Cuban citizen, 56, from Florida municipality. History of arterial hypertension and diabetes mellitus. He was received with a hypertensive emergency in ventricular Failure so he was moved to Intensive Care Therapy. He has light polypnea. Hemodynamically stable. Chest Rx. with increased cardiothoracic index, congestive lesions for hilar. Electrocardiogram. Left branch lock. He is reported in a serious condition.

Cuban citizen, 48, from Holguin municipality. He began with discomfort in the precordial region to changes in position and fever related to Interferon. He was valued in the Cardiology service and a pericardial rub is detected, with prolongation of Q-T and pericardial effusion from light to moderate, it is interpreted as pericarditis of viral etiology, moving for Intensive Care Therapy. He has precordial discomfort, hemodynamically stable. To the auscultation bitonal pericardic rubbing in tricuspid focus. Chest Rx. with discreet interstitial pattern in right pulmonary field. He is reported in a serious condition.
