CAMAGUEY, Cuba. – Maestro and Choreographer of the Cuban ballet Alberto Mendez, received in the city of Camaguey the Espejo de Paciencia (Mirror of Patience) distinction, the maximum award given by this province for his contributions to the development of ballet both in Cuba and abroad.

The award was given to the National Dance Prize in the emblematic Principal Theater, in the context of a show dedicated to him, where dancers of the Ballet of Camaguey presented his works Suite Generis and Waltz and Fantasy.

Mendez recognized the technical skills of the dancers of the local company, the first one of classic ballet created by the Cuban Revolution, and he praised the respect for different pieces.

Alberto Mendez commented on the excellent work done by professors and assayers, and he expressed feeling at home when working again in Camaguey.
