Havana, Cuba.- Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel on Saturday lauded the progress made in the computerization of the country, and noted the creation of new video games based on that policy for the benefit of society.

‘The computerization program in #Cuba makes progress. New Cuban video games to learn and have fun,’ the president said on Twitter.

The Cuban State grants special importance to the process of computerization of society and the development of information and communication technologies in the country.

Its technological and infrastructural foundation is precisely the development of telecommunications in Cuba, Communications Minister Jorge Luis Perdomo said recently on the TV program Dominio Cuba.

He noted that this policy is a priority for the Government, due to its direct influence on the economy, among other aspects.

However, he added that the United States blockade against Cuba and its tightening after the activation of Title III of the Helms-Burton Act have a negative impact on the sector’s development.
