Cuban President highlights chemical industry´s potential

Chemical industry is present in several economic areas.

HAVANA, Cuba.- Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez highlighted the enormous potential of the chemical industry in the country, and its impact on the national economy.

When presiding over a meeting on the state of this economic sphere, Diaz-Canel learned that it requires technological renewal to promote development.

Diaz-Canel called in this regard to strengthen the link between science, technology and innovation, with the aim of replacing imports in that area.

The information stated the chemical industry is present in pharmaceutical production, hydraulic resources, tourism and other economic areas, and employs more than 6,000 people. The President added that some of its products are fertilizers, gases industrial, medicinal, and others in high demand.
