Cuban First Vice-President Runs Productive centers in Villa Clara.

HAVANA, Cuba.- Salvador Valdes Mesa, Cuban First Vice-President, toured today the Plant Biotechnology Institute at Marta Abreu Central University of Las Villas, as part of the government visit to Villa Clara province.

Valdes Mesa learned about the research work of the center, founded by Fidel Castro 26 years ago and which produces potato seeds for Cuba and other countries of the area interested in its acquisition, as well as coffee embryos, bananas, and ornamental plants.

The Cuban First Vice-President also exchanged with the management of the Plant Biotechnology Institute and praised its ability to produce vitroplants, mini-tubers and micro-tubers using biotechnological methods.

The day began in Chichí Padron Feed Mill of Santa Clara, currently in the process of expanding capacities for the installation of new mills.
