Cuban Chancellor calls to defend Latin American and Caribbean peace.

HAVANA, Cuba.- Cuban Chancellor Bruno Rodriguez called this Monday to defend the peace and sovereignty of the peoples of Latin America and the Caribbean in the face of the invocation of the aggressive and dangerous Monroe Doctrine.

Let´s preserve the postulates of the proclamation of Latin America as a Zone of Peace before the claim to exercise domination in the region, Rodriguez wrote in his Twitter account.

The Monroe Doctrine is a U.S.-sponsored foreign policy strategy that considers the Latin American continent under its control and America’s claim to Americans demonstrates Washington’s interference, with which the region’s rulers proclaimed Latin America as a Zone of Peace in 2014.

That took place during the Second Summit of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States in Havana, where they agreed to banish forever the use and threat of force in the area.
