Cuba rejects U.S. coercive measures against Mexico.

HAVANA, Cuba.-The President of Cuba, Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez, showed this Friday solidarity with the Government of Mexico, following the decision of the United States to apply tariffs on imports from that nation.

Through a message on Twitter, the head of State emphasized that the island sympathizes with the Mexican sister nation before the coercive, discriminatory and arbitrary measures by the United States.

Our friendship and support. We are children of America and we owe it, the Cuban President wrote on the digital platform.

Under the pretext of the flow of migrants seeking the American border, President Donald Trump decided to apply to Mexico a 5% tariff on its exports to the United States.

Cuban Chancellor Rejects Unilateral Actions by the United States

Cuban Chancellor Bruno Rodriguez strongly rejected the application of coercive, discriminatory, imperialist and arbitrary measures of U.S. against Mexico, inspired by the Monroe Doctrine.

Through Twitter, the Cuban diplomat says poverty is the cause of emigration, whose solution is through cooperation for development.
