HAVANA, Cuba.- At the close of yesterday, May 27, 555 patients are admitted to hospitals for epidemiological clinical surveillance. Another one thousand 684 people are monitored in their homes from Primary Health Care.
For COVID-19, 364 samples were studied, resulting in 9 positive samples. The country accumulates 99 thousand 745 samples carried out and one thousand 983 positive (2.0%). Therefore, at the close of yesterday, 9 new cases are confirmed, for a cumulative figure of one thousand 983 in the country.
The 9 confirmed cases were Cuban. Of them 8 (88.8%) were confirmed case contacts, and in one (11.1%) the source of infection is not accurate.
Of the 9 cases diagnosed, four (44.4%) women and five (55.5%) men. The most affected age group was 40 to 60 with seven cases (77.7%), followed by those under 40 with two (22.2%). 44.4% (4) of the positive cases were asymptomatic.

28-year-old Cuban citizen, resident in Playa municipality, Havana province. A contact of previously confirmed cases. 12 contacts are kept under surveillance.
58-year-old Cuban citizen, resident in Diez de Octubre municipality, Havana province. A contact of previously confirmed cases. 30 contacts are kept under surveillance.
Cuban citizen, 53, resident in Boyeros municipality, Havana province. A contact of previously confirmed cases. 10 contacts are kept under surveillance.
50-year-old Cuban citizen, resident in San Miguel del Padron municipality, Havana province. A contact of previously confirmed cases. 10 contacts are kept under surveillance.
55-year-old Cuban citizen, resident in La Habana del Este municipality, Havana province. The source of infection is being investigated. 11 contacts are kept under surveillance.
Cuban citizen, 39, resident in Playa municipality, Havana province. A contact of a previously confirmed case. 13 contacts are kept under surveillance.
Matanzas
Cuban citizen, 44, resident in Matanzas municipality, province of the same name. A contact of a previously confirmed case. 13 contacts are kept under surveillance.
Of the 1,983 patients diagnosed with the disease, 165 are kept admitted and 164 (99.4%) have a stable clinical evolution. 82 deaths (none in the day), two evacuees and 734 recovered patients (87.4%) (10 highs yesterday) are reported. A patient is reported in a serious condition.
Patient in a serious condition:
Cuban citizen, 52, from La Habana del Este municipality. History of high blood pressure, HIV positive with 20 years of evolution, bronchial asthma. He entered Intensive Care Therapy for worsening of his clinical picture. He started with a dry cough, shortness of breath and fever. He is stable, feeding, spontaneously ventilating. Hemodynamically stable. Chest Rx. with discreet improvement. Inflammatory lesions in both lung fields predominantly the lower 2/3 of left lung and the middle lobe of right lung. He is reported in a serious condition.
