First National Conference of the Union of Computer Specialists of Cuba

HAVANA, Cuba.- How the Cuban informatics Union can contribute to the computerization of the Cuban society is a question that will be answered for two days by participants in the First National Conference of this young organization, which began its debates in Havana.

At the inauguration of the event, attended Jorge Luis Perdomo, Minister of Communications, the Vice-President of the Union of Computer Specialists of Cuba, Maria Esther Alfonso reviewed the main results two years after the organization was created, as the progress in the technological infrastructure.

Alfonso highlighted that contributing to the empowerment of information and communication technologies is one of the goals up to 2021.

Delegates have the challenge of continuing to make Union of Computer Specialists of Cuba an organization that distinguishes itself by innovating, integrating, and computerizing.

Contributing to Develop the Computerization of Society

The strength of the Union of Computer Specialists of Cuba is to unite professionals of this strategic sector, who through their knowledge help to the development of the computerization of our society, Minister of Communications Jorge Luis Perdomo said.

During the First National Conference of the new organization, the Minister urged that turn training into a weapon of self-financing, and called each territory to ensure overcoming actions that contribute to increasing their affiliates´ professionalism.

In the debates of the meeting, delegates from Granma and Villa Clara provinces valued what was achieved in relation to knowledge management and innovation.

They also emphasized the analyses carried out in previous months that allowed to deepen in topics like cyber society, and the impact of information and communications technologies.
