The time in Havana, Cuba
Havana, Cuba. - José Ramón Fernández, Adviser of Cuban President, Raúl Castro, and head of the Cuban Olympic Committee, received this Wednesday in Havana the former Prime Minister of Japan, Yoshiro Mori, in his first visit to the island.
Mori, is one of the most recognized politicians in the Japanese modern history, and has had a long relationship with Cuba and Commander- in-Chief Fidel Castro, with whom he met on several occasions at international events.
Precisely this visit responds to an invitation made in 2001 by Fidel, which could not be accomplished so far, as Fernandez told the press some minutes before the meeting in the building of the State Council.
The high Cuban official said the island receives Yoshiro Mori as a friend, because of his contribution to the strengthening of bilateral relations
