The time in Havana, Cuba
Havana, Cuba.- More than 100 thousand dead civilians, considered by the Pentagon as collateral damages, is the result of nine years of American occupation in Afghanistan. Aíxa Hevía, Lazaro Barredo, Reynaldo Taladrid, Óliver Zamora and Randy Alonso, journalists of the Round Table TV program on the present dilemmas of the empire, remembered Fidel´s warning about the generation of more violence with violence.
They reported that, according to surveys, 90 percent of Americans reject the war operations in Afghanistan, where the lords of the war and the Taliban control the most part of the center-Asian country.
In the years of Yankee presence in Afghan ground, the production and traffic of drugs grew, and even so Washington intends to add 30 thousand men to its troops, while several members of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization announce they will retreat from the conflict.
Crisis and more crisis
The economic chaos and unemployment seriously affect the United States. The fiscal situation, according to President Barack Obama, is untenable, with a deficit that makes that economy the most indebted at a global level, while the rate of unemployment reaches almost near 10 percent.
In the Round Table it was known that only in September, 95 thousand jobs were lost and the unemployed people in the northern country are already 15 million. The experts assure that, while jobs are not recovered, economy will not be rescued, while the White House admits the situation is difficult, but the foundations for a future recovery have been laid.
So far, 72 percent of Americans qualify their government as inefficient and disastrous, and the life expectancy in that country is lower than years before, due to the bad medical attention.
Obama faded and Democrats are in troubles
Next month mid-term elections will be done in the United States, to renew all the House of Representatives and a third of the Senate, but the ruling Democratic Party is in danger of losing a great political capital.
In the Round Table it was commented how President Barack Obama´s image of man for changes has diluted, and now he is seen as someone that does not fulfill his promises. I
In those elections, the most expensive in the history os U:S:A: with 3 thousand 400 million dollars already spent, Democrats will not have the vote from the black people, less from Latins and a very few from liberals, who are dissatisfied. The economic crisis will be the context and the dominant issue in those elections in the United States, where an abstention near 50 percent from the voters is expected.
