Havana, Cuba. -From an agreement of the Council of State of Cuba, it was created the Network of Offices of the Historian and the Curator of Patrimonial Cities, headed by Eusebio Leal. Leal explained in the Round table TV program that the institution aims to unify efforts and exchange experiences on issues of management and administration.
After stressing his aspiration that this work flourish and multiply, he referred to the restoration work carried out in Santiago de Cuba after the scourge of Hurricane Sandy, and announced that other offices in cities like Gibara will join the network.
Montevideo, Uruguay. - Uruguayan solidarity with the Cuban anti-terrorists unjustly condemned by the United States was expressed in different ways this week with a visit of Kenya Serrano, president of the Cuban Institute for Friendship with the Peoples, to that Latin American country.
Serrano attended two acts of solidarity organized by social organizations and trade unions; and met with the President of the ruling Frente Amplio, Mónica Xavier. Also, she was declared as an Illustrious Visitor for her career since she was a student leader at the continental level, occasion in which executives and personalities appreciated Cuba´s solidarity with the Uruguayan people.
Havana, Cuba. - Antonio Guerrero, one of the anti-terrorist Cuban prisoners in the United States, sent five hugs and congratulations to the Pablo de la Torriente Brau Center, in Havana, on the occasion of the anniversary 15 of the A Guitarra Limpia project. In his letter to the cultural institution, the Hero of the Republic of Cuba praised the work of that Trova space, which described as a home of verb and song, as well as a nest of imagination and beauty.
Guerrero pointed out that although troubadours always return to their daily life after acting in that place, their mark remains inevitably "in that courtyard, in those rooms and offices in which truth, dignity, the people and the Revolution are defended, on due dates and in better times".
Guantanamo, Cuba. - Major General Arnaldo Tamayo Méndez, Hero of the Republic of Cuba and first Latin American astronaut, donated some items that will increase the exclusive collection of the Cuba-USSR Joint Flight Room, in the Museum of the eastern city of Guantanamo.
The objects include an official document, issued by the Aviation and Cosmonautics Russian Federation, certifying the realization of the flight on September 18, 1980, starring Yuri Romanenko and Arnaldo Tamayo Méndez, on board of Soyuz 38 ship.
