Havana, Cuba.-Cuban ambassador at UNESCO, Dulce Buergo, stressed that the cultural legacy of humanity is increasingly threatened by conflict and violence.
The increase of conflicts, violence, military interventions and illegal actions such as illegal trafficking of goods, are among the main threats, stated Buergo prior to a concert at the United Nations Education, Science and Culture Organization (UNESCO).
Havana, Cuba.-Salvadorian President Salvador Sánchez Cerén arrived Tuesday on a state visit to Cuba during which he will meet with his Cuban counterpart Raul Castro and attend other events.
He was welcomed at the Jose Marti international airport by First Deputy Minister of Foreign Relations of Cuba, Rogelio Sierra Diaz. Cuba and El Salvador established diplomatic relations on November 11, 1902, and were broken on March 1st, 1961, following a decision of the Central American country.
Havana, Cuba.-The Vice-president of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Cuba, Ulises Rosales del Toro, heads the Cuban delegation participating in the inaugural ceremony of the del recently elected government of the Cooperative Republic of Guyana, headed by Brigadier David Arthur Granger.
The Granma newspaper reports that the ceremony coincides with the 49th anniversary of that country's independence, and takes place on Tuesday, May 26, in Georgetown.
