Havana, Cuba. - The Ministry of Labor and Social Security, in its update of the process of self-employment, reported that more than 328 thousand 600 Cubans have joined that modality, and 65 percent of them is affiliate to the social security.
It added that the most representative activities are load and passengers transport, elaboration and sale of foods, hired workers, house renting, carpenters, producer-salesman of domestic articles and messengers.
In addition the Ministry of Labor and Social Security emphasized that who are self-employed must keep the tributary obligations and do only the authorized activity.
Also, to use materials and equipment of legal origin, to take responsibility with the quality of the production and the services they render.
The impulse to self-employment constitutes at present a priority in the Cuban economic structure.
