On July 9, 2014, a new round of migration talks was held between the delegations of the United States and Cuba, which were presided over, respectively, by Edward Alex Lee, Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Bureau for Western Hemisphere Affairs of the US State Department, and Josefina Vidal Ferreiro, Director-General of the US Division of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Havana, Cuba.-Since the election of President Obama has not occurred any change in the application of economic, commercial and financial blockade against Cuba.

Havana, Cuba.-The Container terminal at the Mariel Special Development Zone, some 50 kilometers from Havana, has already loaded and offloaded 57 ships since the facility was inaugurated six months ago.
Deputy Director at the terminal, Alvaro Molina, told reporters that the boats that arrived at the facility had an average 280 to 300 containers each on board, which would translate into the loading and offloading of some 15 thousand containers, according to a recent report by Cuban television.
