Playa Girón and FAR´s Headquarter memorial museums
Jagüey Grande, Cuba. - , would reinitiate their activities this Saturday after a deep process of remodeling. The first one is located in the same scene of that deed and the other one in Australia sugar mill, both to the south of the province of Matanzas. (See image gallery)
Lourdes Núñez, director of museums in that territory, said to Radio Reloj that the buildings were repaired, and the collections of historical pieces were increased; besides, new rooms were created to reflect the history lived by the Cubans fifty years ago.
Both with the category of National Monument, Playa Girón and FAR´s Headquarters of memorial museums exhibit arms, tanks, boats, wreckages of mercenary airplanes, photos and other objects related to the first Yankee military defeat in Latin America.
The opening this Saturday of both cultural institutions, marks the beginning in Matanzas of the activities for the 50th anniversary of the victory of Playa Girón, event dedicated to Cuban youth.
