Havana, Cuba.-The Real Madrid Foundation started a training campus in this capital Monday, which will extend up to next Friday, with the visit of former Spanish soccer star Emilio Butragueño.

‘We were just like crazy for being in here. We spent a year and a half organizing the project with Cuban and Spanish friends. And we are very happy to be here,’ stated director Joaquin Sagues.

Sagues explained that by means of such a project, they expect to receive more than 100 children in the training campus, selected from 8 schools, and including boys and girls.

‘In this country, a country in which education and public health are public, and for free, and are included among the best in the world, we could use soccer to transmit positive values of the sport,’ Sagues added.

For his part, Javier Sanz, responsible for the Cuban part of the project, exhorted children reunited at the Eduardo Saborit Sports Complex, to enjoy the experience at the maximum.

The program includes talks, exercises, videos, practice sessions and others.

Sagues emphasized, that the aspects of leadership, effort, self-control, teamwork, will be the main to introduce and discuss in the project.

Emilio Butragueño will arrive in Cuba on Tuesday, to talk to the children on Wednesday, and will offer a press conference.
