Havana, Cuba.- The Cuban baseball team will seek a victory today against the U.S. college team that will draw the 7th Friendship Series, which began Tuesday in the capital”s Latin American stadium.
The team led by Carlos Marti will be as pitcher Roy Hernandez from the Crocodiles of Matanzas, while Alain Sanchez from the Sugar Mills of Villa Clara and Vladimir Garcia from the Tigers of Ciego de Avila will perform as relievers.
In the opening clash of this bilateral top, the visitors took the 5-1 victory thanks to an excellent monticular demonstration of the left-handed Drew Parrish, who worked for five innings allowing an indisputable, with five strikeouts and no ball abase.
The North Americans scored two runs in the second inning and one in the fourth, all against opener and loser Dachel Duquesne then added one more in the seventh and eighth innings, against releivers Yoanis Yera and Alejandro Meneses, respectively.
The series will be extended until next Saturday 14th and constitutes the last stage of preparation for the Cuban baseball players who will participate in the Central American and Caribbean Games of Barranquilla 2018.
