Havana, Cuba.- The Cuban delegation to the Central American and Caribbean Games in Barranquilla, Colombia, this year has already increased to 431 athletes, Cuban sports website Jit reported. The latest athletes to qualify for the regional event come from boxing (8 fighters), taekwondo (16), tennis (4) and thiathlon (6).

Cuba will compete for 379 of the 470 sets of medals to be awarded in the competition. The goal set by sports authorities is to win about 500 medals.

So far, Cuba will be entering competitors in open waters (4), water polo (26), badminton (8), basketball (24), basketball 3×3 (4), handball (30), baseball (24), boxing (8), canoeing (15), cycling (23), riding (2), fencing (18), artistic gymnastics (10), rhythmic gymnastics (8), springboard (2), hockey (32), judo (16), weightlifting (12), skating (6), modern pentathlon (4), rowing (20), softball (30), taekwondo (16), tennis (4), table tennis (8), archery (6), shooting (21), thriatlon (6), sailing (12), volleyball (28) and beach volleyball (4).
