Havana, Cuba.- The Cuban Telecommunications Enterprise (ETECSA) and SES Networks, of Luxembourg, signed a deal for satellite services, the entity of the Caribbean island said today.

This agreement will allow diversifying connectivity of the Caribbean island, complementing the existing one by optical fiber.

This will be possible through a high-performance fiber-like medium earth orbit (MEO) service to guarantee additional capabilities that support internet service for users.

SES Networks, of Luxembourg, is one of the world-leading satellite operator, the ETECSA note says.

The company provides satellite communications services to broadcasters, content and internet service providers, mobile and fixed network operators, governments and institutions.
