Russia awards Lenin Prize to Raul Castro.

MOSCOW, Russia. – The Communist Party of Russia awarded the Lenin Award to Army General Raul Castro Ruz, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba, according to Sputnik.

In announcing the decision in a party direction meeting,  Russian communist leader Guennadi Ziuganov indicated that the party presidency awarded the Lenin Award to Raul Castro for his outstanding contribution to the dissemination of the ideals of Socialism, in which the Cuban people in an example.

The Communist Party of Russia also agreed that Ivan Melnikov, a member of the Central Committee of the organization, will travel to Cuba to give the recognition to Raul during the celebrations of May 1.

This April 22 was the 149th anniversary of the birth of the leader of the Great Socialist Revolution of October, Vladimir Ilyich Ulyanov, Lenin.
