President of Cuba pays official visit to Belarus

MINSK, Belarus.- The President of the Republic of Cuba, Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez, arrived in Minsk as part of an official visit during which he will meet his Belarusian counterpart, Alexander Lukashenko.

Upon his arrival at the airport of the Belarusian capital, Diaz-Canel was received by the Minister of Industries, the Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs of that nation, as well as the Cuban Ambassador to Minsk, Juan Valdes Figueroa.

During this day, the Head of State is expected to visit sites of economic and cultural interest, among other activities, after concluding his tour of Ireland, where he spoke with Irish President Michael Higgins.

Diaz-Canel tour also includes an official visit to Russia and its participation in the 28th Summit of the Non-Aligned Movement, to be held in Azerbaijan.
