Holguin, Cuba.- Young Cubans are paying tribute to Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro on occasion of his birthday, with several activities in Biran, the village where he was born in August 13, 1926.

To mark this 93rd anniversary of his birth, more than 500 youths from the Provincial Committee of the Cuban Young Communist League in Holguin province are going camping on Tuesday in areas close to the historical home of the Castro-Ruz family.

Attendees will evoke the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution with cultural events and lectures about Fidel Castro’s work and life.

Participants will light a giant bonfire at midnight Tuesday, dedicated to Fidel’s birthday.

A cultural-political act and tour of his birthplace, a space full of memories and stories of the Commander’s childhood, are expected for this August 13.

This celebration is also part of the program dedicated to International Youth Day, which aims to bring new generations even closer to their national history.
