HAVANA, Cuba.- The Cuban culture and the Revolution need you, of us, of our freshness, commitment, our critique, ways of saying and energy to do, Susely Morfa, First Secretary of the Young Communist League of Cuba (UJC) said at the closing in this city of the III Congress of the Hermanos Saiz Association.

We will always count on you, with your contribution, the depth of your debates, and with what you propose to represent the purest and genuineness of our creators and artists, the youth leader said.

Morfa highlighted that the Cuba we live in today belongs to us, because we are mostly young people who are building this society.

The First Secretary of the UJC insisted it cannot be forgotten how much the link and support of the cultural institutions and organizations at all levels has to grow with the Hermanos Saiz Association.

A Spiritual Forging

Creation and thought are free, but that does not imply confusing freedom with anarchy, Yosvany Montano, delegate by the University of Arts to the Third Congress of the Hermanos Saiz Association said today, and advocated for arguing and contributing creatively, through permanent dialogues.

Montano considered that the exercise of cultural policy could not be an absolute patrimony of officials, and underlined that the so-called Sunday intellectuals and merchant artists have no place in present or future circumstances that project an organization like AHS.

Yanetsy Leon from Camagüey describe the Association as spiritual forging qualified and recognized the institutional support and from the political direction in her province to the spaces generated by young creators.

In the plenary debate at the Convention Palace of Havana, Ada Lezcay from Santiago de Cuba asked to incorporate multidisciplinary teams into the artistic evaluation.

Respect for Cultural Hierarchy

The conversion of music centers in companies have damaged areas of creation we are interested in protecting, delegate Gustavo Gonzalez warned, during the debates today at the Congress of the Hermanos Saiz Association.

We defend the permanence of institutions, but we must make them work truly, because there are disagreements caused by poor schedules, permeated by favoritism, the director of The Crusade group said.

Jose Ernesto Novaez from Villa Clara opined that cultural hierarchies are not properly respected, and criticized how in a hotel or a cultural center with the best conditions, sometimes there are options lacking in artistic quality.

Novaez highlighted it is essential to form the aesthetic taste and mentioned the example of National Ballet of Cuba, whose art is enjoyed by an ever-growing audience.

A Committed Artistic Vanguard

As a result of the first meeting of the National Council, playwright Rafael Gonzalez Munoz was elected President of the Hermanos Saiz Association, and as Vice-presidents writer Eldys Baratute, poet Liliana Rodriguez and filmmaker Marleydi Munoz.

At the closing session in the Convention Palace of Havana hall of the Third Congress of AHS, its new president thanked the trust placed in those who will lead in the next period the avant-garde of young Cuban artists and intellectuals.

Gonzalez Munoz called to not hesitate to make any call of attention and timely criticism, in pursuit of a coherent work and to give continuity to the legacy of those who founded the organization 30 years ago.
