HAVANA, Cuba. – The coordinator of the National Network of Solidarity with Cuba in the United States, Cheryl Labash, demanded the government of her country to lift the blockade maintained against the island for more than half a century.

“We are here to support the Cuban people and reject the economic, commercial and financial siege against Cuba imposed by our country,” Labash said, who arrived in Havana as part of the thirteen May First International Solidarity Brigade.

According to the American activist, her country is one of the most represented nations within this solidarity block, which has more than 70 members.

Cheryl Labash also highlighted the need for the US government to return the territory illegally occupied by the Guantanamo Bay Naval Base, and expressed her rejection of the interventionist positions of President Donald Trump.
