Havana, Cuba.- The preparations for the referendum to ratify the new Constitution on February 24 continue on Thursday in Cuba, where electoral officials are receiving training.

According to the National Electoral Commission (CEN, in Spanish), the process is in the training phase, mainly of the members of the electoral boards, who will be responsible for explaining to people how to exercise their vote.

The CNE reported that 195 special polling stations will operate in Cuba on February 24.

They will be located in areas of high concentration of people such as terminals, students’ residencies, hospitals and hotels, so that all citizens with legal capacity can exercise their right to vote.

Those who for justified reasons cannot go to the polling station in their neighborhood will be able to vote in a special one or in any other, CEN authorities pointed out.

In the areas of Havana that were affected by the tornado on January 27, conditions will be guaranteed for people to vote on the Constitution.
