HAVANA, Cuba.- Army General Raul Castro Ruz, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba, congratulated this Friday the Association of Combatants of the Cuban Revolution on its 25th anniversary.

You receive the warmest congratulations and recognition for the outstanding work carried out during all these years, Raul said in his message, read in a political ceremony and military ceremonies held in El Cacahual Mausoleum.

This important date must serve as a renewed impetus to continue unconditionally defending the Revolution in the face of the challenges ahead, the Army General said in his text, released by Brigadier General Juan Perez Gil, head of the Ministry of the Revolutionary Armed Forces.

The event was held on the occasion of the 122nd anniversary of the fall in combat of major General Antonio Maceo and his assistant, Captain Panchito Gomez Toro.
