GRANMA, Cuba.- With the presence of the First Secretary of the Party, Army General Raul Castro, and of the President of the Councils of State and Ministers, Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez, it was developed this October 10 the central act for the anniversary 150 of the beginning of the wars for the independence of Cuba.

In the same place where Carlos Manuel de Cespedes gave freedom to his slaves, it was evocated of that transcendental fact that marked the beginning of the only Revolution.

Exactly 150 years have passed since that cry of war that changed the life and history of Cuba, on October 10, 1868, when the excited song of the free slave was heard.

The decision of the Cubans was to fight against Spanish colonialism with a flag and a libertarian cry: Independence or Death.
