More than doctors, a real family.

HAVANA, Cuba.- A large group of Cuban health professionals, members of the More Doctors Program, arrived this Wednesday to Havana from Brazil.

One of them, Dr. Indira Garcia Arredondo, said they return to the homeland a little saddened because they leave many families in that nation without medical attention, and she reaffirmed the commitment to march to any other mission they are entrusted.

Doctor Fernando Gamaso Gilabert, who worked in a rural settlement at the North-Amazonian state of Acre, told he found pathologies such as tuberculosis, leprosy, respiratory infections and a lot of parasitism in children.

The member of the More Doctors Program added that these poor patients treated him with great family love, cared about any problems he might have, and he confesses that when they knew that Cubans would leave, many wept and did not want to believe it.
