Havana, Cuba.- The second secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba, José Ramón Machado Ventura, affirmed for people of the Caribbean island there is nothing impossible, when it comes to challenges.

‘The challenges are great, but none is impossible for a town like this. We have learned in the fight that victory belongs to those who fight and resist, ‘said Machado Ventura at the closing session of the XXI Congress of the Central Workers of Cuba.

Machado Ventura called for consolidating the sense of belonging to the workplace, fostering the pride of being part of a collective and the personal commitment to results. In addition to feeling shame when the work does not go as it should be.

In the presence of Cuban president, Miguel Diaz-Canel, and the first secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba, Raúl Castro, Machado Ventura urged to eradicate evils and increase positive attitudes to contribute to economic progress.

Inertia, justifications and defeatism are always and will be very harmful, but more so in times when real, effective savings are essential, not as a simple phrase, he said.

There are many achievements, he said, that we see as something natural everyday, but they are chimeras for workers in other countries.

To conserve them, ‘he said,’ we must make an efficient use of all resources.

We will continue doing whatever necessary to preserve the military invulnerability of the country, through the conception of the war of all the people, and in the economic part the main development programs will be supported, said Machado Ventura.

We will have to overcome every obstacle, without retreating in the prioritized sectors and trying to satisfy the basic needs of the people, he said. The labor movement has worked seriously and consistently. Therefore, on behalf of the Party, congratulations everyone.

This May 1 our people will give a strong demonstration of unity, commitment and victory, concluded the party leader.
