Havana, Cuba.- Cuba´s President Miguel Diaz-Canel has called on Monday to form comprehensive university students, capable from history and the science of confronting the pseudo-culture and the US hegemony Washington that tries to impose.

Addressing the yearly assessment meeting of the Ministry of Higher Education, the Head of State pointed out that the current regional and international scenario forces to prioritize the political-ideological preparation in the classrooms of university education.

We live in complex moments, in which the US seeks to break the identity of the nations in Latin America to establish their cultural hegemony, which includes alienation, he warned.

Diaz-Canel also insisted on the contribution that the university should give to Cuba´s socioeconomic development, based on research translated into innovation and solving problems in the country and the territories.

In that sense, he called for strengthening the relationship between the houses of higher education and enterprises.

According to the President, other priorities for Cuban universities are to promote the culture of detail and revolutionary concern in order to fight the wrong and phenomena such as bureaucracy and corruption.
