HAVANA, Cuba.- The President of the Councils of State and Ministers, Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez, and the Second Secretary of the Central Committee of the Party, Jose Ramon Machado Ventura attended the funeral honors of Jose Ramon Gallego Fernandez.

Other members of the Political Bureau also paid tribute to the Hero of the Republic of Cuba, whose ashes are exposed in the Cemetery of Veterans at Colon Cemetery, where they will remain until they are moved to the Mausoleum of Frank Pais Second Eastern Front.

Since he was very young, Gallego Fernandez participated in the revolutionary struggle against Batista tyranny in conspiracy movements with different military and political groups, which is why he was sent to prison in the former Isla de Pinos.

When the Revolution triumphed Jose Ramon Fernandez joined the Revolutionary Armed Forces, participated in the fight against bandits, and in the direction of fighting in Playa Giron.
