Cuban First Vice-President verifies agriculture program in Pinar del RioPINAR DEL RIO, Cuba. – The First Vice-President of the Councils of State and Ministers, Salvador Valdes Mesa, and the First Secretary of the Party in this province, Julio Cesar Rodriguez Pimentel, examined investments linked to the agriculture system.

During the exchange with industry leaders, the member of the Political Bureau referred to the need to advance these investments for what they represent regarding food production and import substitution.

The First Vice-President of the Councils of State and Ministers detailed that in Pinar del Rio urges to advance the investments made in agriculture through the optimal use of available resources.

Rice-Based Program Tops Agricultural Investment

The First Vice-President of the Councils of State and Ministers, Salvador Valdes Mesa, met with the highest authorities of Pinar del Rio, to verify the progress of agricultural investments led by rice program.

During the meeting, the member of the Political Bureau emphasized the need of carrying out actions with maximum efficiency, and the use of each resource.

Regarding rice, Pinar del Rio undertakes works related to drying and storage of the grain, such as that on Kilometer 12 of La Coloma Road, to which the Vice-President indicated to give a systematic follow-up.

Valdes Mesa called to review the project to avoid oversizing, as there will also work a factory for the treatment of corn and bean seeds.
