Havana, Cuba.- Education is defended with commitment, said the president of Cuba, Miguel Diaz-Canel, during the first day of the national seminar for the preparation of the 2019-2020 school year attended by executives from the whole country.

At the meeting, convened by the Ministry of Education (Mined), the head of State of the largest of the Antilles, called to strengthen the cadre policy to achieve more efficient government management, which in this sector is translated into paper that teachers and directors play in the schools.

In this regard, the Caribbean leader highlighted the presence of young school directors and pointed out there is an important quarry in the island’s education sector.

As in previous meetings with other ministries, Díaz-Canel stressed that one has to be sensitive,sensitive to the problems of the people that in the case of MINED, are the students.

He also referred to the need of achieving a work system that addresses the problems that each school has, because these methods must be linked to the base.

Diaz-Canel stressed the importance of eliminating obstacles that harm the educational process, while calling for collective work to achieve greater results in the educational sector of the Caribbean nation, which must be dignified and encouraged, he said .

The Cuban president stressed the need to train teachers with greater rigour in order to have better prepared teachers in the classrooms and highlighted the role currently played by pedagogical training schools throughout the country.

As one of the most important elements of the educational process, he pointed out the methodological preparation for which he exhorted all possible creativity.

If we do well the methodological preparation, this will have an impact on the students, said Díaz-Canel.

In the same way, he emphasized the empowerment of values ​​in the students, while stressing the importance of maintaining subjects such as labor and artistic education as training for a healthy growth.

The Antillean leader also referred to the complex situation that Cuba is going through at the moment following the announcement by the United States Government of the application of Title III of the Helms Burton Law, which intensifies the blockade imposed on the island almost 60 years ago.

Education is considered in Cuba one of the most precious achievements of the Government and the people since the triumph of the Revolution, the first of January 1959.

On Tuesday, Díaz-Canel and the first secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party, Raúl Castro, inaugurated in Santiago de Cuba the school for children with physical-motor disabilities ‘Cuba-Vietnam Friendship’, a dream of the historical leader of the Revolution, Fidel Castro .

In the coming weeks, the inauguration of another similar center is expected in the central province of Villa Clara.
