HAVANA, Cuba. – All Cuban municipalities have already prepared their candidacy with the candidates for delegates to the Provincial Assemblies and members of Parliament, which will be presented in special session of each municipal government body next Sunday.

The President of the National Candidacy Commission, Gisela Duarte, reported in an exclusive interview with Radio Reloj that the time has come after a consultation process to 99 per cent of the constituency delegates.

Duarte highlighted the work of the municipal commissions of candidacy, which from January 5 to 14 consulted the newly elected representatives of the people, regarding the proposals of their territories as candidates for provincial delegates and parliamentarians.

The President of the National Candidacy Commission also stressed the responsibility of these, from the level of municipality and even the nation, to select the best.

In Close Liaison with the Community

Gisela Duarte recalled that the nomination of the candidates for delegates to the provincial assemblies and members of Parliament will be held on January 21.

Once the candidatures have been approved, she said, on January 22 it will begin another two important moments of the electoral timetable corresponding to the general elections in the country.

That day, as the National Electoral Commission has envisaged, the exposure of the candidates´biographies begin. Until next March 10 they will carry out visit schools and workplaces, enhancing the link with the community.
