HAVANA, Cuba.- We will not just be witnesses to the takeoff of the Cuban economy, but we also want to accompany it because that is going to be beneficial for the two countries, Spanish head of Government Pedro Sanchez said this Friday when inaugurating inn this city the Cuban-Spanish Business Committee, attended by President Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez.

The Spanish President, who arrived on Thursday afternoon to Cuba for a brief official visit, advocated for putting bilateral economic and trade relations at the same level of our historical and affective ties.

The Forum was attended by representatives of some 400 companies, between Cubans and Spanish, of hotel, services and infrastructure sectors.

The head of the Spanish government Pedro Sanchez visited then the historic area of Old Havana, where he donated the chairof General Antonio Maceo.

Trust in Cuba

The Cuban economy is facing a complex situation with limitations in its financial resources and availability of currencies, Vice President Ricardo Cabrisas said, and thanked the confidence of the Association of Entrepreneurs of Spain in Cuba.

Cabrisas spoke on the Cuban side in the Spanish-Cuban Trade Forum this Friday and brought together almost 400 businessmen from the two countries, on the occasion of the official visit of Pedro Sanchez, the first of a head of Spain’s Executive in 32 years.

In the forum there were three panels that showed the possibilities of business in Cuba, in the sectors of investment, tourism and renewable energies.

During the business forum two new agreements were signed as part of the reorganization of the Cuban debt in the medium and long term.
