HAVANA, Cuba.- Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla, Minister of Foreign Relations, received in Havana Lesego Makgothi, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Relations of the Kingdom of Lesotho, who pays an official visit to the island.

At the Cuban Chancellery, Rodriguez Parrilla said Cuba is proud of the historical relationships of friendship, and the positive level of development that these reach.

He said that the Cuban people keep a vivid memory of the visit of King Letsie III, as well as the recent meeting of Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez, President of the Councils of State and Ministers of Cuba, with the Prime Minister of Lesotho.

The Cuban Chancellor added that this October 10 was celebrated the anniversary of the beginning of the struggles for the independence of Cuba, and noted that many Africans and their descendants fought in the wars.

Cuba and Lesotho Strengthen Ties

Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla, Minister of Foreign Relations, described as excellent the bilateral relations and cooperation between Lesotho and Cuba, and reiterated the willingness to strengthen them.

He also thanked the role played by the African Union and its member nations, including Lesotho, in its support for the elimination of the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States Government on Cuba for almost 60 years ago.

Lesego Makgothi, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Relations of the Kingdom of Lesotho, conveyed a salute to the Cuban people and Government, and their best votes for peace and solidarity, while reiterating the desire to strengthen the bonds of collaboration.

As part of the activities he develops in Havana, Makgothi placed a floral offering before the monument to National Hero Jose Marti, in the square bearing his name.
