ATHENS, Greece.- The World Federation of Trade Unions, on behalf of the more than its 95 million members, strongly rejected the attempted coup d’état against the legitimate Government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.

This interference, expressed in the document, orchestrated by the United States Government, NATO and the European Union, executed by spokespersons of the transnational corporations and monopolies of the country, constitutes a flagrant violation of the rules of international law and the sovereignty of Venezuela.

In the message transmitted from Athens, Greece, the World Federation of Trade Unions points out that it is an inalienable right of every people, the ability to decide for themselves, without other interventions on their present and future.

The Federation reiterates its solidarity with the Venezuelan people, with the working class and affiliated organizations in that country, in the face of the imperialist threat.
