LONDON, UK.- The defense of Julian Assange rejected a possible departure of the founder of Wikileaks from the Embassy of Ecuador in London, after warning that he could be detained by British justice and then delivered to the United States.

Lawyer Barry Pollock dismissed the offer of Ecuadorian President Lenin Moreno, which the cyber activist leave the diplomatic seat, on the grounds that he would not be extradited to any country where he is in danger.

The Australian journalist sought asylum in Ecuador in 2012, when the British authorities were about to extradite him to Sweden for alleged sexual crimes, a case that was subsequently filed.

Assange’s legal team considers that if he leaves the precinct he will be detained for justice, and then handed over to the United States, that claims him for publishing secret documents, something the defense does not agree with.
