Venezuela strengthens security in areas bordering Colombia.

CARACAS, Venezuela.- The Government of Venezuela strengthens security in areas bordering Colombia by applying the mobility card through pedestrian crossings that limit access between the two nations.

The Director General of the Administrative Service for Identification, Migration and Aliens, Gustavo Vizcaino, notified that more than 12,000 Colombian citizens have registered for the program so far.

The official explained that the mechanism aims to facilitate transit of foreign migrants at the border, while providing greater security to the Venezuelan State.

Vizcaino added that this tool, which visitors will have to submit to the Migration Police, will continue to be provided on a permanent basis in order to facilitate access to the South American country, and anticipated that in the coming days it will be implemented for citizens of Brazil.
