Venezuela evokes first step towards independence

CARACAS, Venezuela.-The President of Venezuela, Nicolas Maduro, recalled this Friday the first independence declaration and the beginning of the libertarian deed against the Spanish colonial regime.

Through his account in Twitter, Maduro asserted that with the same rebellion of 1810, Bolivarians today face new empires that seek to take freedom from them.

For their part, authorities of the Venezuelan Government o commemorated the historic event in the National Pantheon of Caracas, where they paid tribute to the protagonists of the first demonstration of the civic-military Union of the Venezuelan people.

The Minister of the Interior, justice and Peace, Nestor Reverol, ratified the commitment of the Bolivarian Executive to guarantee peace, sovereignty and independence before the escalation of aggressions of external powers, in complicity with sectors of the opposition.
