CARACAS, Venezuela. – Venezuela’s Foreign minister, Jorge Arreaza, said this Monday at the UN that his country does not consider the people of the United States an enemy, and is willing to dialogue with the American government, despite its hostile behavior.

After speaking at the United Nations in the high-level debate of the General Assembly, he insisted on Venezuela’s attachment to multilateralism and respect for ideological differences and socioeconomic models.

The people of the United States are our friend. We love, admire and respect their contributions to culture, science and other sectors, Arreaza said and criticized the elites that from Washington try to impose their vision on the world.

According to the Venezuelan Chancellor, the current Administration in the White House attacks the American citizens themselves, and as a side effect affects other nations with their policies, in this case Venezuela.
