turcoHavana, Cuba.-The Vice President of Turkish Exporters Assembly (TIM), Mustafa Cikrikcioglu, described today the results of a bilateral business forum in Cuba as fruitful.

Mustafa Cikrikcioglu, accompanied by several TIM delegation members led by the Turkish Ambassador to Cuba, Berris Ekinci, has conveyed the objective of contributing to enhance the volume of bilateral exchange, from about $20 million USD to $100 millions in two or three years, and to $200 millions in the next five years.

He stressed that the top-priority goals for the business links with Cuba is to increase trade firstly, since mutual knowledge of businessmen from both nations is quite essential.

The TIM delegation, which is paying a two-day visit in Cuba, is made up of over 40 businessmen of the steel, agriculture, ports, transport, textile and energy sectors that represent more than 60,000 Turkish companies.

Cikrikcioglu considered the much-detailed information on the Cuban openings for foreign investment as valuable enough for further bilateral development.

In addition, he stressed that an indication of interest in Cuba was the start-up of direct Istanbul-Havana flights, which contribute to the increase of Turkish tourists into Cuba.

Ekinci pointed out the importance of capitalizing on the great trade and investment potential in tourism and in other Cuban sectors.
