MOSCOW, Russia.- Russia’s Foreign Minister, Sergey Lavrov, asserted Moscow’s position on the situation in Venezuela is based on the premise that democracy is not established by force.

The Russian Chancellor made this statement after his meeting with US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, held in the Russian city of Sochi.

The head of the Russian diplomacy also remarked that his country is advocating for the support of dialogue and the consideration of all issues by Venezuelans themselves, without ultimatums and without prior conditions.

The threats against Maduro´s Government from representatives of the US Administration and Guaido, who constantly recalls their right to invite armed intervention from abroad, have nothing in common with democracy, Lavrov pointed out.
